Frank Thayer Alcove

The Frank Thayer Alcove is the Journalism Reading Room's group study space. It is set up to create a collaborative work enviornment for group study, meetings and presentations. The room contains:

  • 3 conference tables
  • 15 chairs
  • 32 inch widescreen monitor
  • Mac Mini (with SPSS)
  • wireless keyboard and mouse
  • digital camera connected to Mac Mini for recording focus groups or video conferencing

You may also hook up your own laptop to the widescreen monitor. For help, please ask at the service desk

Reserveing the Frank Thayer Alcove

  • Check the calendar to see if the time you want is available.
  • Fill our the Alcove Reservation Form or give us a call to let us know when you want to use the Alcove.
  • We also allow walk-in use of the Alcove if it is not currently in use or reserved.
  • All UW students and faculty/staff of the Journalism department are welcome to use the Alcove.
