Reserves
Department of Journalism instructors may place items on reserve, both electronic and paper through the JRR. Please see the reserves page for more information.
Library Instruction
The JRR's PA-Librarian is available to provide instruction for Journalism classes. Library instruction available includes:
- In class sessions on library services and resources
- Drop-in workshops (held in the Frank Thayer Alcove)
- Research guides for a particular class or assignment
Examples of recent library instruction include:
- Introduction to Databases for Company and Industry Research
- Introduction to Refworks
- Simmons Choices 3 and Factiva Workshops
- Research guide for historical research in communications
To request library instruction for your class, please contact the JRR's PA Librarian
Frank Thayer Alcove
Department of Journalism faculty may reserve the Frank Thayer Alcove. To reserve the alcove, please see the alcove page, or email the JRR.
Interlibrary Loan
You can use the JRR as a pick up or drop off point for all library materials. When requesting an item from UW-Madison Libraries, from another UW system library or through Interlibrary Loan, select the Journalism Circulation Desk as your pickup library. You may also return materials to the JRR and they will be routed to the appropriate library. Please see this page for more information about requesting materials at UW-Madison Libraries.
Faculty Runner Card
A faculty member can designate a student or staff member to obtain books at other campus libraries for them. To designate a faculty runner please see these instructions.
